Real Jamaican Rum Sauce

Ingredients

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup butter

1/8 tsp salt

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup dark rum

2 tsp vanilla

2 tsp Real Jamaican Mixed Spice

  1. Whisk Real Jamaican Mixed Spice and rum set aside.
  2. In medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter, salt and condensed milk. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching. Cook until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.
  3. Stir in rum mixture and vanilla.

Tip!! This rich, buttery sauce is a great topping for Real Jamaican Fruit Cake. Pour it into a pretty jar with lid and   store in the refrigerator. Reheat sauce before serving.
